Becoming Her - Love From the Inside Out

This thought has been on my mind for a couple of weeks now, and it’s time to talk about it.

Why?

Because I hope it helps someone. But if I’m being honest, I also need this reminder myself because lately I’ve caught myself slipping back into some old habits.

So many of us believe that if we could just lose the weight, we’d finally be confident. We’d finally love our bodies.

But I’ve learned that isn’t how it works.

Loving your body and building confidence has to start NOW!

You have to learn to appreciate everything your body has done for you. The hardships it’s survived. The strength it’s shown. The fact that, every single day, it’s working hard to keep you alive.

Until you learn to love yourself from the inside out…did you hear me?

Until you learn to love yourself from the inside out, the number on the scale won’t change how you see yourself.

You might lose the weight, but you’ll still find something to criticize. Loose skin. Wrinkles. Sagging. Stretch marks. There will always be something if your mind is trained to look for flaws instead of progress.

I had to learn that the hard way.

My fat loss never truly lasted until I started working on what was happening internally.

Why did I hate myself so much?

Why did I hide behind oversized clothes?

Why did I avoid mirrors or only use them to criticize myself?

I had to dig deep and unpack things I’d buried for years. I had to face memories I never wanted to revisit. And somewhere along the way, I realized something…

I deserved love.

Especially my own.

Until that changed, my fat loss was nothing more than years of yo-yo dieting.

Today, I’m the smallest I’ve been in over 20 years.

And yet…

Recently, I’ve caught myself slipping into some of those old patterns. Picking myself apart. Feeling insecure. Questioning myself. Even letting those thoughts creep into my relationship—not because of Dave (let me be very clear about that). He’s the most supportive, encouraging partner I could ask for.

This is about me.

It’s about the story I’ve started telling myself again.

The good news?

I recognize it.

And I’m not staying here.

It starts with changing the conversation I have with myself every single day.

One post could never cover everything I’ve learned, so I’d love to do a short series if people are interested. I’ll share the things that helped me rebuild my confidence from the inside out—not just lose weight.

Because after coaching so many women over the years, I’ve realized something.

I can often see the pain before they ever say a word.

The self-doubt.

The way they constantly adjust their clothes.

The way they try to make themselves smaller.

The hesitation.

The feeling that they’re somehow “not enough.”

I know that feeling because I lived it.

And if you’re feeling that way today, I want you to know something…

You are not alone.

You are worthy of love.

You are worthy of confidence.

And you don’t have to wait until you reach your goal weight to believe either of those things.

My mission isn’t simply to help women lose weight.

It’s to help women become strong, confident, and proud of who they are—right now—while becoming the healthiest version of themselves.

If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your story. And if you’re struggling, my inbox is always open. 💜🩵
